A second chance to catch the artists from Tuesday’s concerts as they join forces for what is sure to be an evening of chamber music delights with works for piano, oboe and cor anglais with string trio.

Mozart’s delightful Quartet and Britten’s youthful Phantasy Quartet sandwich Francaix’s Quartet with Cor Anglais, irrepressible in its bubbling Gallic joie de vivre. The Francaix was premiered by the great Janet Craxton, Nicholas Daniel’s teacher, who also premiered Knussen’s haunting Cantata.

The evening concludes with Saint-Saëns’ third appearance at the festival with his masterful Piano Quartet, which is sure to leave a smile on your face!

Mozart - Oboe Quartet in F Major
Francaix - Quartet for Cor Anglais and String Trio
Britten - Phantasy Quartet Op.2 for Oboe and String Trio
Knussen - Cantata op.15 for Oboe and String Trio
