Supporting young pianists locally

Master Classes

We hold three weekends of master classes throughout the year and local school children have been the recipients of a generous subsidy from a local philanthropist.

The 2013 Summer Festival sees distinguished pianist and Head of Keyboard at Chetham's School of Music, Murray McLachlan, take a masterclass with local piano students after his own lunchtime recital, 'The Art of Encore'.

Also at this year's Festival, pianists of all ages will be able to perform on the Festival's Steinway Concert Grand Piano, on stage at the Coronation Hall as part of the 'Pay & Display' charity event.
