Why we need your support

In today's economic climate, the finances of the festival are always on a knife edge. Every year we need to apply to funding bodies for grants, and the strain on the public purse has meant more demand from an annually diminishing supply. Every year we face the threat of having to pull the plug on some of our most popular concerts if our funding applications are unsuccessful.

A double whammy is audiences are tightening their belts and cutting back, meaning we are never assured of sufficient ticket sales. Fortunately, due to the hard work of our Festival team in aggressively marketing the festival, as well as the quality and variety of concerts on offer, we have successfully steered the festival through the stormy seas of the financial crisis.
